The logic goes that the closer to the coast you are, the fresher the seafood. There's no better test to that logic than to ask the people who've eaten there. So, don't take our word for it, take a look at the reviews for some of the best local restaurants in Myrtle Beach.
1 - Bimini's Oyster Bar and Seafood Cafe

"All I can say is awesome! This place is a hidden gem. Efficiently run with tremendous food! The service is friendly, the atmosphere is casual and great for all ages. If you don't visit here for at least one meal, well you're an idiot and should only vacation at state capitols in obscure states the have no bodies of water!"

"What an amazing experience! This is a local's favorite so reserve, or come at opening like we did, or be prepared to wait in one of their two roomy living rooms or the bar. The hostess super helpful even offered to storage our stroller. Our waiter super knowledgeable and on the ball even though he had several tables. He kept track of every single diet constraint in the diet of our party. The food, AMAZING! The hush puppies came out and we couldn't stop eating them. My kids ordered fish and came right away, they devour it. My husband ordered the Seafood Muddled, it was a good size portion that he enjoyed until last bite. I ended up ordering the seafood platter. The scallops were perfectly cooked. The whole plate was a great balance of freshness and flavor. As we went there for my birthday, I ended up taking home the delicious spice cake. Yummy! I will go back to this restaurant every time I go back to Myrtle Beach."

"During our regular trip to Myrtle Beach, my wife and I decided to try the Sea Captains House out. From the moment we walked in the door to the end of our meal the staff was great. Now our meals were just simply amazing. My wife had the shrimp scampi and I had the shrimp and grits, both were out of this world. So if your in Myrtle Beach check this place out."

"Let me say that I have eaten at most of the seafood buffets in the Grand Strand, that being said this is the best in terms of food Quality and service. We always get our monies worth in snowcrab legs alone. This place is never a disappointment!"

"There are a number of seafood buffets in Myrtle Beach, but Captain Georges would be among the best! Great location and the place is huge, so it doesn't feel too crowded even on weekends. Love the seafood bar set up on a ship replica. Everything was fresh and the only problem was getting full too quickly! Definitely a do not miss!"
4 - Bourbon Street Bar & Grille

"This place really blew me away. We went here on recommendation from some of our friends in the area. On a Saturday night, there was live music with no cover charge. The band was laid back and very good. Service was extremely prompt and friendly. We are from out of town, but I got the sense that this was a local favorite. Everyone seemed to know each other. On top of that, the entire menu is served late into the night. At about 11:00 or so, we ordered delicious shrimp tacos and chicken quesadillas. The prices were decent. I could definitely see myself coming back again."

"I visited Bourbon Street on two occasions while in Myrtle Beach and was delighted with their variety of alcoholic beverage offerings. The food and service was excellent. You'll definitely want to try their awesome shrimp quesadillas! This place has the feel of a "good time" bar but is also a place I felt comfortable bringing my young child along for dinner. It's pretty rare when you can get the best of both worlds but this place has it!"
5 - Brother Shuckers

"Moved to SC 5 years ago. One of the thousands of places to eat around The Myrtle Beach area. Wanted some seafood last night, thought we would give it a try. The only regret I have is that we didn't find this gem much sooner! Easy to find, off the beaten path of the beach. Very nice set up inside, very cozy set up. A one man band was playing music, and while not crazy about music in a place to eat, I must say he was most excellent! Not overly loud, good music and very entertaining. "

"This great little restaurant is located in the Carolina Forest area of Myrtle Beach. I had the ahi tuna which was one of the best tuna dishes that I have ever had. It was served with warm spinach. Superb food and service. In the past I have had the crab cake and the salmon, both being excellent. Quiet atmosphere."
